I'man Boykin serves as the Regional Director for the Southeast & Deep South with the National Black Doulas Association (NBDA) — one of the most respected organizations dedicated to supporting, elevating, and advocating for Black doulas across the country.
This role reflects I'man's deep commitment not only to the families she serves, but to the entire birth worker community. She works to create pathways, resources, and support for Black doulas throughout the Southeast region — because representation in birth work saves lives.
I'man Boykin is a birthworker, educator, herbalist, energy healer, and advocate for holistic family wellness with over a decade of experience supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and healing journeys. Through Sacred Beginnings, she provides compassionate, culturally rooted care that blends education, emotional support, ancestral wisdom, herbal wellness, belly binding, placenta care, and energy healing.
As a mother, grandmother, gardener, and healer, I'man believes birth is a sacred initiation and is passionate about restoring connection, empowerment, and community-centered care back into the birthing experience — especially within Black maternal health spaces.
